APL was formed in 2005 by two qualified and experienced Chartered Accountants.

We each have around 20 years experience in general practice and specialist accounting work, gained in medium and large practices.

Our aim is to provide a range of accountancy services, but to do it differently.

We set ourselves some goals:

Client service levels

You call the shots, not us, both in terms of the scope of work and the timescale. We will tailor the extent of the work according to your requirements. We try wherever possible to work to your deadlines, not what is convenient to us. The partners work together with you, so that there is always someone who can help.

Contactability

You should be able to contact us whenever you want to. You will be able to contact us wherever we are via mobile phone. If we can’t take your call right then, we will get back to you at the earliest possible moment - always on the same day.

Cost-effectiveness

We want you to use our services – we want you to get in touch. We would rather you speak to us to resolve any issues you have, no matter how small, than worry about them. So we won’t charge you for every phone call - we will be practical so that you get value for money.

Most clients don’t want to pay their accountant for the same basic services each year. We aim to make you as self-sufficient as possible when it comes to basic accounting, if that suits your requirements, so that we can concentrate on the issues where we can add more value.

Practicality and commerciality

It’s easy to give advice from a purely accounting or taxation perspective, but this advice will often be at odds with commercial realities. We provide a balanced view, covering commercial issues as well as accounting and tax matters. We will also ensure that we provide practical solutions that meet your needs.

Our hands on approach

You will meet the person you will be dealing with. When you meet one of the partners, they will be your day to day contact, available on the phone or to meet you in person whenever you need, rather than someone you speak to once a year.
